Some additional information regarding Costa Brava - The Costa Brava enjoys wonderful weather for most of the year.  Costa Brava weather allows for excellent sporting activities including cycling, hand-gliding, parachuting, horse riding, hiking and golf. There are also watersports available at the numerous yacht clubs and marinas. Windsurfing, waterskiing, sailing and diving to name but a few.

Girona/Costa Brava airport now has four flights a day from London Stansted. There are innumerable fights from almost everywhere in the UK to Barcelona, and local train services are excellent, as is the road network. English is widely spoken, but it is a big asset if you speak a little Spanish. No-one expects you to speak the local language - Catalan.

Starting at Blanes to the south and ending at Cadaques in the North, the Costa Brava offers purchasers natural beauty, proximity to the great city of Barcelona, historic medieval villages, world-famous restaurants like "El Bulli" at Roses, innumerable excellent sporting opportunities including world famous golf courses and skiing in the Pyrenees.

Although cooler in winter than the Costa del Sol further south, it is also cooler in summer with daytime temperatures around 30c. Lunch on the terrace is a year round option except perhaps in December and January.

The atmosphere is also very different, more sophisticated. Incomers are of many nationalities, usually retired or soon-to-retire professionals. Generally they are well travelled, fairly well-off, and sociable, but there are no foreign "ghettos" as occurs further south, so no English restaurants, pubs and bars. Eating out locally is however an inexpensive, and therefore frequent, pleasure.

Rural escape
The surrounding countryside is one of the regions most attractive features. It is reminiscent of Provence or Tuscany, although here you may have a better chance of escaping from the summer crowds. Pals is one of the many medieval villages you'll find scattered across the hillsides. It dates back to the 9th century and is one of the best kept and best preserved in the region. It's won several prizes for its beauty and the quality of its restoration, and is very popular with jet set types looking for that perfect holiday home. Head down from the hills to the coast and you'll find this stretch of the Costa Brava attracts an upmarket crowd. It's very popular with Barcelona's smart set, and you'll find it buzzing with beautiful people during weekends and in the summer months.

We have many properties in the Costa Brava region to suit your needs.
